Hair Breakage Update

So I haven’t blogged in such a long time that I forgot my login information. I went through A LOT to get into this account but I AM HERE! Yes I am! :-) Since it’s been so long I guess I should update you all on what’s been going on with my hair. The last time I did an official length check video was in February of 2013 and my hair WAS pretty much collectively down to BSL (Bra Strap Length).

NOW is a different story; I had some breakage that happened over a period of a couple of months starting in May 2013. I hadn’t realized that it was getting as bad as it has gotten and the result is really short patches of hair in back of my head on both the left and right side :(.

I put out a video in January of 2014 where I spoke about and showed my breakage and I asked my YouTube subscribers for their advice on what I should do; Should I cut it or nurse it back to health? I had already made up my mind as to what I was going to do, which was nurse it back to health and that is the advice that the majority of people gave me on my video.

In the quest to nurse it back to health I decided that I would do scalp massages with HBCO (Haitian Black Castor Oil) and I did do that for a while but I’ll be honest; I don’t do it regularly enough… Hanging my head in shame :( Don’t judge me guys, I really really really do want my hair to grow back to the beautiful flowing glory that it once was but laziness is a B*tch. I literally have to schedule hair massages, like really set the alarm on my iPhone to actually remind myself to do it… I’m working on my organization skills (bravo).

Aside from the scalp massages I have been doing my best in keeping this here hair moisturized, it has definitely been a task lately. I’m not sure if it’s because of the weather or what but it has been hard for me to keep it moisturized for more than two days in a row; I didn’t have that problem before. I used to be able to keep it moisturized for a good 3-4 days but now its a struggle.

But yeah, that’s what I’ve been doing in attempts to nurse my breakage back to health and so far so good. I think, say and feel positive things when I’m doing anything with my hair so it can flourish and be what it once was. I will definitely keep you guys posted on my progress.
